About me

Anne Kristine Bergem, MD, psychiatrist with further education in violence risk assessment and violence management, group therapist, Executive Master og Management is a special advisor in The Norwegian Psychiatric Association where she amongst other tasks is a journalist for the association´s web page. She also works as an advisor at the Center for Next of Kin and Carers where she is a lecturer, writer and makes the podcast Pårørendepraten. She has written several books on children as next of kin and young carers and contributed to several books with topics like next of kin, mental health and dentistry and art and mental health.

She graduated from the University of Oslo in 1997 and completed her training as a psychiatrist in 2006. She has been Chief of Psychiatry at a Regional Department of Forensic and High security Psychiatry, Advisor at the National Council for Mental health, advisor at BarnsBeste – National Competence Network for Children as next of Kin and Associate Professor at Oslo Metropolitan University.
